Today was an excellent, productive day. Though most of the projects we worked on weren't completed, it felt like progress was made. It may not have been huge progress, but it was satisfying to me anyway.
James and I poured 2 concrete curbs in the bathhouse this morning. Tomorrow we'll take the forms off and see if I should be as pleased with them as I am right now.
After lunch Adam and I installed a glass block window in his master bathroom. Originally a window had been covered up and the bathroom was very dark and covered with a dull pink tile. We took that chunk of wall out and had to come up with an idea to fill the hole and let some light in. I can't find a picture with the pink tile, but here it is with the window blocked off once the tile was removed. Lovely, isn't it?
The window is still not finished, but here's where it stands now. The bathroom is so much brighter.
Later in the afternoon James and I worked some more on what we call "the little house". It's the first building we've scraped and have begun painting. I love the colors we chose.
The trim will all be that periwinkle you see in the front. The front door will be a bright white.
I finished the day off making 2 frames for some paintings for an upcoming show.
The fall colors are beginning to creep up the mountain and it's slowly beginning to look like fall. The temperatures in the morning feel like it too. I can't imagine there is a more beautiful place to live than this.
Periwinkle is my favorite color! Anne and Ronson have a window like that in their downstairs bathroom, too. It lets in some light and is right over the tub/shower. I love it.
Making great progress!!! Love your colors too :-)
Thank you for sharing your progress with us. I have so many fond memories of that place. I worked there as an Accountant/Business Manager for 19-1/2 years. I am so happy you and your family are reviving this awesome place.
